Personal comment: You will observe from my comments that I find the idea of prophecy as an answer to prayer to be quite exciting! It is my prayer that the Lord will open our eyes to this and other truths about prophecy which will lift it out of its somewhat elite place in the eyes of many, to become the vehicle of God’s communication with us it is meant to be.
Ideas for discipleship programme
- Read some of the texts particularly in chapters 10 and 40 of Isaiah which relate to this passage and check out how they connect with it.
- When you have spent some time in prayer for others, wait on the Lord to see if He says anything to you about your prayers. It may be that He has a prophetic word for you to give to someone else, to answer their prayers!
